Mark Your Calendars for the Premier Industry Event

Global Pet Expo | March 22-24, 2017 | Orlando, FL

APPA members, in addition to all of your other exclusive member benefits, you have access to the Premier Industry Event, Global Pet Expo! If you’ve never attended the Show, here are a few stunning facts about last year that will make you want to go:

Global Pet Expo is not only the first trade show of the year, but also the pet industry’s largest annual trade show, and we have the numbers to prove it:

Total attendance in 2016 came in at a staggering 15,478 attendees including 6,170 qualified buyers who walked the 320,000 net square-foot Show floor! With 1,087 exhibitors and 3,218 booths sold, our exhibit space grew by nearly 10,000 feet to accommodate the space needed to share over 3,000 new pet product launches – another Show record!

And to make for a truly “global,” Global Pet Expo, 21% of exhibitors and 24% of buyers this year were from countries outside the United States, a clear indication that once again, Global Pet Expo is a key trading opportunity for companies around the world!

Did we also mention that more than 220 members of the press were there from magazines and bloggers to national media outlets like The TODAY Show, ABCNetwork and Fox & Friends, as well as celebrities like Lisa Vanderpump, Outkast’s Big Boi, Pit Boss Shorty and Christie Rampone? We welcomed some impressive media to the 2016 Show and are looking forward to more great coverage in 2017.

Screen Shot 2015-04-09 at 11.03.13 AMAnd not to #humblebrag, but we got pretty social on social media as well!

Fans took to Twitter over 5,000 times using the official Show hashtag #GlobalPetExpo to talk about what was new and happening on the Show floor. These tweets generated more than 33 million impressions, reaching more than 5.4 million people. All of this social interaction sent #GlobalPetExpo soaring to the top of Twitter’s most tweeted list, earning a spot in the ‘trending topics’ yet again.

If these numbers aren’t enough to get your tail wagging, we don’t know what will.

So, what are you waiting for? Pull out those smart phones, open your email or grab your planners and mark your calendars for the premier industry event, happening March 22-24, 2017. See you in sunny Orlando!

Global Pet Expo is a WINNER!!!

IAEETSE

We’re pleased to announce Global Pet Expo was recently honored by the International Association of Exhibitors & Events (IAEE) and took home two awards from the organization’s annual Art of the Show Competition. Additionally, Global Pet Expo also received the Grand Award for Best Use of Social Media by Trade Show Executive, a leading trade industry magazine.

Honored within the “over 150,000 net square feet” category, Global Pet Expo was awarded for Exhibit Sales Brochure & Prospectus and Sponsorship Development Program by IAEE. The Art of the Show Competition recognizes excellence in promotional materials for the exhibitions and events industry and includes 15 different categories of competition spanning three show sizes. Our year-round marketing plays a key role in the success of Global Pet Expo and we are honored to receive such acknowledgment from the leading association for the exhibition industry.

“The level of excellence from all the entries-and of course, the winners- is a real testament to how strong this industry really is.”
-IAEE President and CEO David Dubois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA

Taking home Trade Show Executive’s Grand Award for Best Use of Social Media, Global Pet Expo was honored for results from its 2013 Show, demonstrating the key role social media plays in the Show’s success. Pre-show communication as well as onsite, real-time social media engagement has helped connect with attendees in such a way that it enhances their Show experience. Contributing to success, the Global Pet Expo YouTube channel grew 58% from the previous year as thousands tuned in daily to stay up-to-date on Show news, #globalpetexpo was one of the top trending stories on Twitter throughout the Show week, and Global Pet Expo’s Twitter encouraged buyers, exhibitors and media to join the conversation and generated 13.5 million impressions.

We look forward to connecting with you at the 2015 Show and hope to see you there!
